The winner of our Sixty Second Shopping Spree

is longtime Skein Lane customer,
Beth Bartson of El Cerrito.

Beth was chosen from about 400 entries to the contest, held between June 17-July 3.

Our special guest and knitting designer, Ann Norling, was on hand to do the drawing
on July 5. Ann was also kind enough to phone our lucky winner, Beth.

Everyone near the phone could hear Beth's excitement when Ann Norling told her the good news. It was exactly what we were hoping to hear.

Beth set her Spree Date for the following Saturday, July 9th, at 1 pm. Before the Spree, she came by the shop a few times to formulate her plan of attack. Beth told us that she had recently moved, and had to get rid of a lot of yarn from her collection. Since storage is an issue, she knew she had to be wise about her yarn choices on the spree.

On the day of the 60-Second Shopping Spree, Beth was prepared and ready to shop - calmly.  To carry her selections, and as part of her prize, Beth was given an empty Bagsmith Project Bag. Timekeeper Sharon Johnson put Beth on her mark. And off Beth went!

Beth got busy. She went straight to the wool aisle and picked up as much Galway by Plymouth as she could grab. This only took her 20 seconds.

Then Beth darted over to the luxury yarn area, where she picked up piles of Ironstone and Mountain Colors yarns.

Beth said, "I knew I would need to choose yarns that I would really use." Several skeins of hand-dyed yarns Beth chose are destined to become scarves or shawls for friends and loved ones. And the Galway she chose is being used for an upcoming sweater class at Skein Lane.

• 2 skeins Starlight by Ironstone Yarns

Beth's total 60-Second Shopping Spree prize was worth over $400!
