The yarn for this project is very specific: worsted weight wool yarn. Below is a selection of 100% wool yarns available at Skein Lane that are suitable for making knit or crochet helmet liners.

Please choose a color that is suitable for the military. The preferred color is black, but you may also do your liners in tan, brown, gray or olive.

Ideally, your yarn should be superwash wool - check your yarn labels for content and care instructions. If possible, attach a note to your helmet liner indicating the care instructions to avoid the risk of inadvertant felting.
