• Payment of the class fee in full is required at the time of registration. You may register in person or by phone (510) 525-YARN (9276) with a Visa or Mastercard, or mail in a check indicating your class preferences.
• Materials fees/kit fees should be paid prior to class. For other supplies required for class, plan to purchase them prior to the start of class.
• Refunds or studio credits for cancellation are issued for a class if the student provides notice no less than 5 days prior to class. You may apply your class fee to another class. No refunds for cancellation less than 5 days prior to class.
• There are no refunds or studio credits for missing class.
• Skein Lane reserves the right to cancel a class up to 5 days prior to the class date. Of course, Skein Lane will refund your class fees should we need to cancel the class.
• Unless the class is designed as a kid’s class, the minimum age for classes is 15 years old.
• We request that you meet the skill level for the class as described in class descriptions.

• Skein Lane staff will call you during the week of class to remind you about the class materials you will need.
• If a class is full, we are happy to add your name to the class wait list. Skein Lane staff will contact you when a seat becomes available. We appreciate your timely response to class availability.
• For a multi-session class, you will enjoy a 10% discount on yarns from several Bay Area yarn retailers while enrolled in a Skein Lane class
• For a single-session class, you will enjoy a one-time 10% discounts from one of several Bay Area yarn retailers.

So that all students have the opportunity to get the most out of their class time, we ask that students be at or above the skill level indicated in the class descriptions. Should you have questions about your skill level as you consider registering for class, feel free to discuss it with any Skein Lane staffer.

Beginner
Student is ready to learn, but no experience with stitching or fiber yet.
All are welcome!

Advanced Beginner
Student has completed some projects, but is still learning. For knit and crochet students: know the basics of cast on, bind off, knit, purl, single crochet, and how to increase and decrease.

Intermediate
Student has made several garments or other projects. For knit and crochet students: experienced working in different stitch patterns, can read a written pattern and is familiar with garment shaping.

Advanced
Student has made garments or other projects. For knit or crochet, student is familiar with varius stitch patterns, and is comfortable making changes to patterns.

In consideration of your fellow students and the instructor, please:

• arrive for your class on time and ready to begin
• purchase all materials and do homework, if necessary for class, prior to class
• turn cell phones either off or to a silent or vibrate setting for the duration of class
• take any cell phone calls outside of the classroom
• do not bring pets to the classroom
• refrain from wearing scented products such as perfume, lotion or after-shave.
