So that all students have the opportunity to get the most out of their class time, we ask that students be at or above the skill level indicated in the class descriptions. Should you have questions about your skill level as you consider registering for class, feel free to discuss it with any Skein Lane staffer.
Beginner
Student is ready to learn, but no experience with stitching or fiber yet.
All are welcome!
Advanced Beginner
Student has completed some projects, but is still learning. For knit and crochet students: know the basics of cast on, bind off, knit, purl, single crochet, and how to increase and decrease.
Intermediate
Student has made several garments or other projects. For knit and crochet students: experienced working in different stitch patterns, can read a written pattern and is familiar with garment shaping.
Advanced
Student has made garments or other projects. For knit or crochet, student is familiar with varius stitch patterns, and is comfortable making changes to patterns.
