Skein Lane’s owner, Carolyn Pugh, has been involved in fibers and fiber arts since early childhood. She learned to knit on the playgrounds of an Australian school ground and continued with formal studies of fiber and textiles throughout her high school and college days.
She began teaching at Albany Adult in school in the 1980's and in 1996 she became the owner of Skein Lane - previously a needlework shop. Very quickly knitting was added to the line up of products and class offerings. In 2006, she decided to redefine her focus back to teaching.
Our teaching staff includes Carolyn Pugh, JP Pettridge, Ellen Graves, and Karen King.
