When one of my knitting workshoppers could not attend this event, I was the lucky benefactor of her tickets to two of Jennifer Hansen's technique workshops - Tunisian Crochet and Hairpin Lace. Jennifer is the founder of StitchDiva Studio and an excellent instructor...vivacious, engaging and knowledgeable. I left feeling accomplished about both techniques...Tunisian Crochet new to me and Hairpin Lace revisited after many years. 

For the tunisian crochet class I chose (or rather grabbed as I was running out the door) Maggi's Chunky Merino and Crystal Palace's Party. As I embarked on my project I chose my third yarn from the wonderful samples given in the samples bag from Lion Brand. And here's my sample! I have visions of using the techinque where the pinks are to use as the border of a top sweater.

And now my hairpin lace samples. You will see one that is wonderfully twirled and one that is held "flat" with yarn guides. The guides aide in allowing easy joining of the hairpin strips.
